DICKSON, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team moved up to third place in round two of the 2019 Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Saturday.
After ending the first day tied for fourth place, the Panthers improved by 19 strokes as a team on Saturday, shooting 313. Birmingham-Southern is 19 shots back of the leader Rhodes College.
Sophomore Alexis Chambers (Ft. Payne, Ala./Ft. Payne HS) and junior Sarah Posey (Covington, Tenn./First Assembly Christian School) lead for BSC. Chambers improved by seven strokes and 11 places with her 76 on Saturday. She is tied for fifth place.
Posey is also tied for fifth place after day two. Posey shot a 77 in the second round and is at 13-over par for the tournament.
Birmingham-Southern will finish out the SAA Tournament with round three on Sunday.
