BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—In exclusive voting by the head coaches of the SCAC, five Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse players have been selected to the All-Conference team, the league office announced today.
Senior Chelsea Van Voorhis, a midfielder from Dallas, Ga., and junior Stephanie Gore, a midfielder from Davie, Fla., were both voted to the SCAC First Team. Gore led the nation in both ground balls (6.8) and caused turnovers (3.27) per game this year. Van Voorhis ranked seventh in the SCAC with 46 goals and ninth with 57 points.
Second-Team selections were senior Alexis Sweda, an attacker from Germantown, Tenn., sophomore Madeline Golden, a midfielder from Hartselle, Ala., and sophomore Logan Harris, a defender from Peachtree City, Ga.
The Panthers finished 8-7 this year and made their second straight appearance in the SCAC Championship, falling to eventual champion Colorado Collegle in the semifinals.
