BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Behind a commanding offensive performance, Buffalo State College defeated the Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team 19-7 Monday evening on Battle Field at Panther Stadium. The Panthers fall to 5-5, while the Bengals move to 4-2.
By the 19:27 mark of the first half Buffalo State had pulled out to a 7-1 lead and led 14-3 at the half. BSC's three first-half goals came from freshman Hannah Hudson and twice from senior Madeline Golden, all on free position shots.
The Bengals out-scored the Panthers 5-4 in the second half for a final of 19-7. Golden scored twice more in the second stanza, as did sophomore Amanda Amerson.
Golden led with four shots while senior Logan Harris led with five ground balls and Hudson led with seven draw controls. Freshman goalkeeper Caitlin Dryer played all 60 minutes and made six saves, facing 25 shots.
The Panthers are in action again this Thursday, hosting Calvin College at 6 p.m. on Battle Field at Panther Stadium.
