ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse student-athlete Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School) was named the Southern Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Cox, BSC's top goal-scorer, also put in a great performance on the defensive end this week to earn the defensive honor. The midfielder caused nine turnovers in two games last week, including a game-high seven forced turnovers in an 18-3 shelling of conference foe Berry College on Friday night.
In those two games, Cox also recorded 13 ground balls in the two games, including nine against the Vikings.
Birmingham-Southern will travel to Southwestern University in Texas for its next game on March 15.
