Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past Huntingdon 17-6

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team defeated the Huntingdon Hawks 17-6 on Wednesday afternoon to improve to 5-7 on the season.

The Panthers were dominant offensively, especially in the first half as they outscored the Hawks 15-3 in the first half hour. For the game, BSC outshot Huntingdon 38-11 and won the 15 draw controls to the home side's nine.

Junior Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School) led the Panthers, scoring five goals, all of which came in the first half. She also added an assist and had three caused turnovers.

Six other Panthers also scored in the match, including freshman Lizzie LaVangie (Jacksonville, Fla./Darlington School), who tied her career-high with four goals.

For its next game, Birmingham-Southern travels to Oglethorpe for a Southern Athletic Association contest on Saturday, March 30. The game is set to start at 2 p.m. ET.
