ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse student-athlete Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School) was named the Southern Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Cox led the Panthers offensively in two road wins against Huntingdon and Oglethorpe last week, scoring 11 total goals.
Against Huntingdon, Cox scored five goals and added an assist in the 17-6 win over the Hawks. She improved on her goal tally in the next game, a conference match against Oglethorpe, where she put up a game-high six goals against the Stormy Petrels in a dominate 13-3 victory.
Cox is Birmingham-Southern's leading goal scorer and second in the league with 58 goals.
This is her second SAA weekly honor this season.
