Panthers win fourth straight with 1-0 victory against Oglethorpe

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team won its fourth straight match and recorded its fourth straight shutout Friday evening, defeating Oglethorpe University, 1-0, on Senior Night at BSC Soccer Park.

Lone senior Brittany Soto was honored in a pre-game ceremony.

The Panthers move to 10-6 overall and 5-4 in the SCAC, while OU drops to 7-9-2 overall and 0-8-1 in the league.

BSC's lone goal was scored by junior Alicia Plotky, off an assist from junior Emmy Hollis, just before the end of the first period.

The Panthers out-shot the Stormy Petrels, 17-14, led by sophomore Devon Weldon with six shots. Freshman Jordan Papas recorded one save in goal, while OU keeper Sarah Nanai made eight saves.

BSC is at home again on Sunday, facing Sewanee at noon at BSC Soccer Park.
