BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer program received its final commitment for the upcoming year, as Ali Sadler has completed her intent to enroll in the College and compete for the Panthers beginning this fall.
Sadler, a 5-7 midfielder from Brentwood, Tenn., rounds out the 2013 incoming freshman class. Intending to major in art, she has enjoyed a successful high school career both on the field and in the classroom. While attending Ravenwood High School, Sadler was named to the Principal's List Honor Roll, obtained the Gold Award Sculpture in the 2011 Art Show, and the Silver Award for Drawing in 2011.
On the pitch, Sadler helped lead the Raptors to the state tournament in 2009, 2010, and 2011. She was named to the Brentwood Soccer Club Future Star of tomorrow in 2010, and her athletic prowess also extended to the rugby field as she helped her team to a state runner-up title in 2012.
"We are very excited to add Ali to our program," Head Coach Emily Pitek Clifford said. "She is a student-athlete who has been on our radar for quite some time. She truly has a great passion for the game, and operates smoothly in the midfield. Her ability to anticipate plays before they happen and make her teammates succeed is going to be rather beneficial for all of us during her college career. I am thrilled that Ali will be joining us as a Panther."
