DEMOREST, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team suffered its first loss of 2018 Tuesday night, falling to 4-1-1 overall after a 3-0 defeat at Piedmont.
The Panthers were outshot by the Lions 20 to 6 and managed just three shots on goal. Piedmont scored one goal in the first half and its other two goals in the second.
Freshman midfielder Emma Choate (Tifton, Ga./Tift County HS) led BSC with three shots. Goalkeepers Blakley Jones (Tuscaloosa, Ala./Holy Spirit Catholic HS) and Katherine Kozera (Rome, Ga./Rome HS) both played 45 minutes, each recording three saves.
Birmingham-Southern will look to rebound at home on Saturday, Sept. 22 in its first conference game of the season. The Panthers will face the Hendrix Warriors at 5 p.m.
