Men's and Women's Tennis win BSC Invitational
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With wins over Millsaps College on Sunday, the Birmingham-Southern men's and women's tennis teams both won the BSC Invitational with 3-0 records on the weekend.
The Panther men won by the score of 7-2, moving to 11-8 overall on the season and 6-1 against conference opponents in their last match of the year. BSC won at two of the three doubles spots, and five of the six singles positions.
Senior Michael Locandro ends the season with a 10-7 singles record, followed by sophomore Hanlon Walsh at 9-8, freshman Reed Pilling at 8-9, freshman Sawyer Voges at 7-4, sophomore John Zukley at 7-9, senior J.C. Freeman at 6-3, junior Will Boucek at 5-1, and senior Cory McGee and sophomore Will Freeman at 1-0.
In doubles, Pilling and Voges led with a 9-9 record, followed by J.C. Freeman and Zukley at 7-2, and Boucek and Locandro at 5-2. Overall, Zukley went 13-6 in doubles, J.C. Freeman was 10-7, Locandro was 8-9, Boucek was 7-2, Pearlman was 5-6, and Will Freeman was 3-0.
On the women's side, the Panthers won 6-3 against the Majors to move to 8-7 on the season with a 5-1 mark against conference opponents. BSC won all three doubles points, and also won at four, five, and six singles. The Panthers have one more match this season, taking on Agnes Scott College at home on Friday, April 16, at 2 p.m.
