Panther Women’s Tennis Beats NAIA No. 13 Campbellsville

BIRMINGHAM,  Ala. – Moya Moore claimed a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win over Anna Tumanyan to clinch Birmingham-Southern's 5-4 win over No. 13 Campbellsville Wednesday at the BSC Tennis Complex.

The win improved the Panthers to 2-1 on the season and will begin a three-match home stand Friday against LeTourneau at 1 p.m.  BSC will also host Huntingdon College on Saturday and William Carey on Monday at 1 p.m. each day.

BSC held a 2-1 lead after taking wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles spots.  Reann Lamare and Lindsey Farrell defeated Janna Sallee, 8-6, and Jessica Kariuki and Sara Cohen edged Kelsie Peckham and Lindy Charity, 9-7 at No. 3.

The Panthers won at No. 3 and No. 6 singles positions to bring the match down to No. 1 singles tied 4-4. Cohan won a straight sets decision over Sallee, 6-2, 6-1, and Kariuki swept Peckham, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 before Moya won at No. 1 to give BSC the win.
