Women's Tennis goes 2-0 at the beach

ORANGE BEACH, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team moved to 7-2 on the season this past weekend, defeating Transylvania University and Point University in Orange Beach, Ala.

The Panthers downed Transy 7-2 on Friday, and Point 9-0 on Saturday. The only two points BSC did not win were at one and two singles on Friday.

BSC has won three straight matches now. Freshman Mary Evelyn Carroll is an impressive 8-1 on the season, mostly at four singles, while seniors Moya Moore and Terria Punturo are both 6-3 in singles play. Moore and sophomore Sara Cohen are 6-1 at one doubles, and Punturo and sophomore Lindsey Farrell are 6-1 at three doubles.

The Panthers are back in action March 29 and 30, hosting Hendrix and Rhodes at 10 a.m. both days at the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex.
