BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team swept Hendrix College at home today, 9-0, at the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex. The Panthers move to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the Southern Athletic Association.
Senior Moya Moore and sophomore Sara Cohen won at one doubles, 8-3, moving to 7-1 on the season, and senior Emily Holst and freshman Mary Evelyn Carroll won at two doubles, 8-6, to move to 6-2 on the year. At three doubles, senior Terria Punturo and sophomore Lindsey Farrell won 8-1 to go to 7-1 on the season.
In singles action, Moore and Cohen won at the one and two spots, respectively, while Holst, Carroll, Punturo, and Farrell rounded out the singles victories. Carroll leads the squad with a 9-1 mark in singles play.
The team is back on the court tomorrow, hosting Rhodes College at 9 a.m.
