BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team earned the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team award and saw seven Panthers named Scholar-Athletes by the organization. This is the third consecutive year BSC has received the team award.
Programs must hold a team grade point average of 3.2 or higher to qualify, and scholar-athletes are varsity letter winners who have a 3.5 GPA or higher for the current academic year and at least two semesters at their current institution.
Alana Owens (Mableton, Ga./Riverwood International Charter School) and Isabella Wisener (Horton, Ala./Douglas HS) picked up their third consecutive scholar-athlete honor, while Lexie Dillard (Jasper, Ala./Walker HS) earned her second. Other Panthers recognized were: Emily Enoch (Nashville, Tenn./Christ Presbyterian Academy), Virginia Hammond (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Preparatory School), Ashton Henderson (Birmingham, Ala./Laurel Springs HS), and Carlee Petro (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS).
