BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team moved to 3-0 on the year after defeating both LaGrange College and NCAA Division II Spring Hill College this weekend. The Panthers topped Lagrange 9-0 on Saturday and then Spring Hill 5-2 on Sunday.
The doubles are off to an impressive start. BSC has not lost a doubles match at either position so far this season.
Ashton Henderson (Birmingham, Ala./Laurel Springs HS) was one of the Panthers top performers. She gave up just three games in four matches. Undefeated in No. 2 doubles, Henderson swept singles play with 6-0, 6-0 wins at the No. 5 and No. 4 positions. Her doubles partner Lexie Dillard (Jasper, Ala./Walker HS) went 6-0, 6-0 in singles out of the No. 6 position against Spring Hill.
Also picking up wins across the board were Harper Anderson (Birmingham, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) and Emily Enoch (Nashville, Tenn./Christ Presbyterian Academy). Anderson won both her No. 3 singles matches and Enoch won at both the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.
The Panthers return home next to take on Covenant College. Match time is set for noon on Saturday, Feb. 9.
