Volleyball splits on day two of SCAC West/Central Crossover

JACKSON, Miss.—The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team split today at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference West/Central Crossover, hosted by Millsaps, losing to Trinity, 3-0, but defeating Hendrix, 3-0.

Against Trinity, freshman Alex Bothe led with 11 kills and junior Hope Harris added 10 kills. Senior Christine Denning recorded 26 assists, and senior Jennifer McKannan posted 17 digs.

In the win against Hendrix, Harris led with 14 kills, Bothe had 11, and freshman Sarassa Burrus had 10. Denning tallied 32 assists, and McKannan and Harris each recorded 12 digs. Burrus also had three blocks, while Harris recorded five service aces and Bothe had four aces.

The Panthers return home for their next two matches, hosting the BSC Tri-Match on Tuesday, Oct. 19, taking on Martin Methodist at 4 p.m. and West Alabama at 8 p.m.
