Panthers travel to Atlanta to face two ranked opponents in Doc Partin Classic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team will travel to Atlanta this weekend for the Doc Partin Classic, hosted by No. 4 Emory University.

The Panthers will play two matches on both Friday and Saturday, facing Faulkner and Wheaton on Friday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and then taking on No. 5 Eastern and No. 4 Emory on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

BSC is 4-0 on the young season after winning the McK Attack Tournament this past weekend here on the Hilltop.

"This is a challenging weekend for us as we play four different styles of teams," Head Coach Judy Green said. "Our staff and team are excited to compete against nationally competitive DIII programs like Emory and Eastern, but our focus remains steadfast - we play one match at a time and we focus on ourselves. This week in practice we have worked on improving our team defensive play and our speed in transition. We know we want to play fast and that all hinges on our ability to control the first contact."

Saturday's match against Emory will feature a live video feed, available here.
