JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team opened conference play with a 3-0 road win over Millsaps College Wednesday night. BSC (6-3) is now 1-0 against Southern Athletic Association opponents.
Marjorie Ward (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park HS) and Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) earned double-doubles. Ray finished with match highs of 11 kills and 16 digs. Ward earned 10 kills and 13 digs, respectively. Reilly Vought (Spanish Fort, Ala./Spanish Fort HS) led with a match-high 22 assists.
After a two-week road stint to open the season, the Panthers finally return to the Hilltop for their first home matches of the season. BSC hosts Rhodes College on Saturday, Sept. 15 and then Hendrix College on Sunday to continue conference play. Both matches start at noon.
