MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – No. 21 Birmingham-Southern volleyball earned a spot in its four Southern Athletic Association final after sweeping Hendrix College 3-0 Saturday in the tournament semifinals. BSC (25-5) will face No. 17 Berry College in the championship match tomorrow at noon.
Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) had another double-double after finishing with a match-high 14 kills, hitting .364, and picking up 12 digs. Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) finished with a match-high 33 assists.
Defensively, Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) earned a match-high 25 digs. And Rebecca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) finished with a match-high eight blocks for the sixth time in her career.
This championship is a rematch of last year's final. BSC has split its meetings with the Vikings this season. After dropping the first in five sets on the road, the Panthers swept Berry at home to close regular season play. The winner grabs the SAA automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
