ROME, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern cross country teams wrapped up regular season competition this weekend at the Berry Invitational, with the men placing second and the women seventh.
The men ran in a field of 19 teams, and were led by sophomore Chris Roberts, who placed sixth with an 8K time of 26:27.90.
The women were also in a field of 19 teams, with sophomore Elise Pittman placing 23rd with a 6K time of 23:57.20 to pace the Panthers.
"I couldn't be prouder of our regular season final meet results," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "The Berry course was competitive and our men and women were prepared for the race. We are excited about preparing for the SAA Cross Country Championships as we continue to get better each week!"
The Panthers are next in action in the Southern Athletic Association Championship, which they are hosting, Nov. 1 at Sharon Johnston Park in Huntsville, Ala.
