OXFORD, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's cross country team placed 10th at the Jacksonville State Foothills Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
Led by senior Marjorie Head (Columbiana, Ala./Shelby County HS), the Panthers finished the 5k race with a total time of 1:51:15.1 and an average time of 22:15.02.
Head, who has been BSC's top runner in each of its four events thus far, finished the course with a time of 19:43.4 to take 28th place.
Senior Megan Rasmussen (Headland, Ala./Providence Christian School), freshman Caroline Teal (Blountsville, Ala./Oneonta HS), junior Anne Lewis Simmons (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS), and sophomore Mary Emerson Owen (Baton Rouge, La./Episcopal School of Baton Rouge) also ran in the 5k for the Panthers.
Birmingham-Southern will compete at the UAB Blazer Classic, which will serve as the final tune-up before the Southern Athletic Association Championship, on Friday, Oct. 18.
