BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team dropped its second Southern Athletic Association game against Oglethorpe Saturday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum. The Panthers outscored Oglethorpe in the first half, but eventually fell 114-104.
Josie Wannemuehler (Birmingham, Ala./John Carroll Catholic HS) led the team with a career-high 25 points. She made 7-of-8 from behind the arc.
Leah Middleton (Decatur, Ga./St. Pius XH) scored 15 points,
Alexia Hood (Birmingham, Ala./Alcorn State University) and
Anna Beth Giles (Gadsden, Ala./Glencoe HS) recorded 11 each, and
Audra Putman (Athens, Ala./Lindsay Lane Christian Academy) rounded out the Panthers in double-figures with 10.
Cassady Quintana (Orlando, Fla./William R. Boone HS) led with a team-high nine rebounds.
BSC (2-7, 0-4 SAA) returns to action on the road as they travel to Centre College on Friday, Feb. 5. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in Danville, Ky.
