Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

BSC BEATS CENTRE 4-0; BLATTMANN WITH TWO ASSISTS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team came back from their loss on Friday to take a 4-0 victory over Centre. The Colonels outshot the Panthers 15-12 but the Panthers beat their shots on goal 5-2.

The Panthers played a great defensive game not allowing the Colonels to capitalize on any of their shots. Birmingham-Southern was able to control the ball and hold possession for most of the game so that goal keeper, Jack Hunt, only had to make two saves out of the 15 shots faced to keep the Colonels scoreless.

The first goal of the game came in the 11th minute of play. Coleman Jennings crossed the ball to Trey Hines across the box, Hines was able to boot it into the back of the net to put the Panthers on the board. The first half ended with the Panthers up 1-0.

The second half saw three more goals from Birmingham-Southern, using their momentum to beat out their opponents. In the 57th minute with a pass from Pirmin Blattmann, Christian Hernandez beat out the goal keeper to put another in the goal for the Panthers. Pirmin Blattmann had another assist only two minutes later. Blattmann perfectly placed the ball off his corner kick for Coleman Jennings to head the ball into the goal, making the Panthers lead push to 3-0. The final goal for the Panthers came shortly after Patrick Kelly and Kenneth Toledo entered the game together in the 63rd minute. Kenneth Toledo set up the goal for Patrick Kelly in the 68th minute, the Panthers now sat at a comfortable 4-0 lead.

Birmingham-Southern fought off Centre and kept them scoreless for the rest of the game, beating them out 4-0.
