PANTHERS BRING HOME VICTORY ON THE ROAD

JACKSON, Miss. - The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team took home a victory over Millsaps 6-1. The Panthers outshot the Majors 24-10, with shots on goal at 12-2.

The Panthers played a great game all around scoring five of their six goals all in the first half. Within only 30 seconds of the game starting, the Panthers scored their first goal. Coleman Jennings gave Alessandro Junior the opportunity and he took it to put the Panthers up 1-0. Less than two minutes later Alessandro Junior did it again, this time with the assist from Trey Kirksey. After being up 2-0 in only the first two minutes of play, the Panthers did not make another goal until the 22nd minute of play. The third goal came from Christian Hernandez with Pirmin Blattmann on the assist.

In the 29th minute of play, Coleman Jennings gave Kenneth Toledo a perfect ball to grab yet again another goal for the Panthers. Birmingham-Southern was up 4-0 in a comfortable lead over the Majors. On the 34th minute mark a yellow card was given to Millsaps that gave the Panthers a penalty kick. The penalty kick was saved by the Millsaps goalkeeper, but not long after that the Panthers were able to add a fifth goal from Adrian Castro on the board.

The second half was not as intense as the first half, with only 7 shots from Birmingham-Southern in the half, compared to 17 in the first. The final goal from the Panthers was put in by Coleman Jennings, from Cesar Hurtado, in the 52nd minute. Birmingham-Southern was able to fight off the Majors until they were able to capitalize on one goal in the 81st minute, the Panthers still taking the victory 6-1.
