Jackson, Miss – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball returned to the court on day two of the Millsaps Tournament. The Panthers competed against the Lions of University of St. Thomas falling short with a final score of 93-78.
Both teams started off strong in the first quarter.
Summer Killin ended the first quarter with a jumper falling short of one point with the Lions leading 25-24. The Lions kept the energy up in the second quarter leading the first half 50-38. Coming back from halftime, both teams battled it out with the Panthers being outscored just by two points. The Panthers fought hard in the fourth quarter holding the Lions to 18 points.
Brooke Westhoelter led the Panthers in points recording 22 points shooting 9-10 from the free throw line.
Anna Smith and
Lilly Hart both contributed double digits in points recording 11 and 10.
Charlton Kelley held it down on the inside picking up six rebounds for the Panthers.
