BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team took on Millsaps College in their first conference game of the season. With a dominate performance, the Panthers collected a win with a final score of 95-66.
The Panthers started off slow in the first quarter trailing the Majors 22-16. Even with the slow start in first quarter, the Panthers did not let that affect them going into the second quarter outscoring the Majors 18-11. BSC led the game going into halftime by a score of 34-33. Birmingham-Southern kept the energy going in the third quarter shooting over 50% from three-point range and outscoring Millsaps 33-24. In the fourth quarter, the Panthers were dominate on defense holding Millsaps to only nine points.
Brooke Westhoelter was everywhere on the court recording 13 points, six steals, six rebounds, and three assist. Cassady Quintana also put on a stellar performance recording 13 points, six rebounds, two steals, two assist, and one block. Faith Anderson and McKenna Buckner both contributed 11 points to the teams total.
