BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern men's soccer put up two first half goals and then fended off Piedmont College to earn the 2-1 win at home on a rainy Wednesday night. BSC is now 1-1 on the year.
Coleman Jennings (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) opened scoring in the 10
th minute. A cross into the box from
Christian Hernandez (Ft. Payne, Ala./Ft. Payne HS) was mishandled by the keeper and Jennings headed it in. He scored the Panthers second goal in the 42
nd minute.
Bryan Arteaga Cruz (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS) sent a pass into the box and Jennings dinked it past the goalkeeper and in off the right post.
BSC heads to Piedmont next. The teams square off again on Wednesday, Feb. 24. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
