Birmingham, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team continued their home streak taking on Oglethorpe University. The Panthers were looking to bounce back after losing to Berry on Friday's matchup. BSC led the whole game and came out with a victory with a final score of 86-82.
The Panthers came out hot outscoring the Petrels 35-18 in the first quarter. While BSC held the lead in the second quarter, Oglethorpe brought a little momentum scoring 24 points. The Panthers led the game going into halftime with a score of 49-42. Both teams started off slow going into the third quarter with the Panthers being outscored 18-12. BSC gained fourth quarter momentum and dropped 25 points to finish the game off with a victory.
Cassady Quintana led the Panthers in scoring putting up 17 points and adding three steals, three blocks, and one rebound.
McKenna Buckner was dominate on both sides of the court recording six rebounds and putting up 13 points. Buckner added on three steals.
Brooke Westhoelter dropped 14 points for the Panthers. Westhoelter added on three rebounds, one assist, block, and steal.
