BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team fell to the Millsaps Majors in a tough match on the road.
The Majors swept doubles play from the Panthers with No. 1 doubles
Phoebe Shapard and
Maddi Stewart falling 8-2. No. 2 duo
Jenna Prater and
Sarah Rushing fell at a close 8-5 and No. 3
Isabella Lambert and
Anna Cate Weeks fell 8-3.
Birmingham-Southern looked to make a comeback in singles play against Millsaps, but ultimately fell short.
Maddi Stewart, competing in the No. 1 spot, grabbed the only victory on the day for the Panthers. Stewart took her opponent in straight sets with a 6-1 and 6-3 victory. No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 all lost in straight sets, while No. 4
Jenna Prater's match was unfinished.
