BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team shut out the Hendrix Warriors in their final weekend of regular season play.
The Panthers took all three doubles matches from the Warriors. No. 3
Tom Smith and
Reed Martinson finished first, followed by No. 2
Hallet Green and
Elijah Ingleson, both defeated their opponents 8-2. The No. 1 duo of
Wilbur Dotson and
Tanner Debardelaben were the final doubles match to finish, winning 8-6.
Heading into singles matches, the Panthers were up 3-0 and feeling good.
Tom Smith, competing at No. 5, was the first to finish taking his opponent in straight sets at 6-0 in both. No. 1
Hallet Green was next to finish beating the top regionally ranked player, 6-2 and 6-1. All the Panthers defeated their opponents in straight sets, sweeping the day 9-0.
