BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern Athletic Hall of Fame committee has selected the 2022 Hall of Fame class. The selections include four student-athletes and a coach, all of which made their mark on a women's program while at Birmingham-Southern. The dinner and ceremony will be help on Friday, Oct. 14.

The 2022 BSC Athletics Hall of Fame class is made up of five females representing, women's golf, softball, women's lacrosse, and women's soccer. We would like to recognize these individuals and honor them for their accomplishments and in light of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX.
First,
Ashley Lovell Messenger. Lovell Messenger was a former women's golf student-athlete that graduated from BSC in 2011. During her career she was named a NGCA Honorable Mention All-American, earned NGCA All-East Region honors, three-time SCAC Golfer of the Week, and was a two-year BSC Team Captain. She won two individual tournament titles and had 19 individual top 10 finishes, and helped the Panthers win 11 team tournament titles.
Next,
Eyrún Oddsdóttir. Oddsdóttir was a former women's soccer student-athlete that graduated from BSC in 2003. Eyrún was named 2000 Honorable Mention All-American, First Team Mid-South All Region selection, TranSouth Newcomer of the Year and All-TranSouth selection. She still ranks first in goals, assists, and points in a single season. She sits fourth in career goals (34), second in career assists (24), and fourth in points (92).
Next,
Tyra Perry. Perry became the first softball coach at Birmingham-Southern in the spring of 2002. Over six season Perry compiled 146 wins, coached three all-tournament team selections, six Big South Player of the Week selections, and five Big South Pitcher of the Week selections. Her 2004 team ranks ninth all-time in assists for a single season. Perry laid the foundation for what is expected of the program today. During her six years on the hilltop she averaged over 24 wins a season and led the Panthers to their first winning season in program history. The softball program has since been nationally recognized multiple times in top 25 polls and national awards.
Fourth, is
Alicia Plotky. Alicia was a part of the women's soccer team, graduating in 2012. Plotky was a NSCAA All-Region selection, was named All-SCAC in 2010 and 2011 and earned SCAC Player of the Week honors three times over her career. Alicia ranks first in career goals (45), career points (114), and game-winning goals. She ranks second in game-winning goals in a single season, second in career assists (24), and second in career games started and third in career games played. Lastly, she ranks in the top 10 in single season goals and points for the BSC program.
The last induction for 2022 is,
Chlesea Van Voorhis Nickles of the women's lacrosse team, graduating in 2013.
Van Voorhis was a first team IWLCA All-Region selection, was named First Team All-SCAC in 2011 and 2012 along with being named the Offensive Player of the Year in 2011. Chelsea ranks inside the top 10 in the women's lacrosse record books for career points, goals, and draw controls. She also ranks inside the top 10 in single-season goals and points.
The Birmingham-Southern Athletic Department will recognize these five women on Oct. 14, 2022, at the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner and Ceremony.
