BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A total of 45 fouls occurred over the course of a contest that saw the Panthers fall 120-110 in Bill Battle Coliseum. The loss marks the sixth consecutive loss for the Panthers against Centre.
A back and forth first quarter saw Centre edge BSC by seven points. BSC came out in the second quarter and regained the lead after a 10-0 run. The second quarter was again back and forth with Centre controlling most of the quarter. The Colonels led by 6 at half and never looked back. A lopsided foul count helped the Colonels outpace the Panthers.
Brooke Westhoelter recorded a career-high 32 points in the loss. She added two rebounds, two assists and three steals in the contest as well. Three other Panthers scored in double figures,
Montana Harris recorded 16 points,
Sameera Elmasri added 15, and
Sheraton Foster added a career-high 14 as well.
Three Colonels notched 20-plus points in their victory. Makya Grinter recorded 25 points, five boards, and six steals. Emma Rose Vincent added 24 points, and came one rebound shy of a double-double with nine rebounds. Natalie Duggins recorded a double-double after notching 23 points and 10 rebounds.
