MARYVILLE, TN. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team lost a tight 0-2 matchup at Maryville College.
Birmingham-Southern saw 18 shots compared to 14 from the Scots. Both goals came in the first 30 minutes of the match and were only six minutes a part. The first goal came from a cross in the 24th minute that was tucked away by Jorge Graniel. The second goal was crossed in by Craig McIlwraith and headed into the back of the net by Hyatt MacDonald.
In the second half the Panthers came out fast by creating a few an opportunities in the first 10 minutes. One opportunity resulted in a penalty kick, that would ultimately be saved by Maryville goalkeeper. BSC led with 11 shots on goal, but could not find the back of the net.
