BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team was defeated by Covenant College on Wednesday night.
Covenant traveled to Goldfarb Field Wednesday night for a nonconference matchup against the Panthers. The Scots created a bundle of chances early, to force goalkeeper
Jayden Schell into two saves. Covenant found the net twice in the first half the first coming from Knox Gibson, and the second coming just before the half by Whitt Tisdale. The Panthers did create a couple of good chances early, but could not find the back of the net.
The second half continued a similar pattern of play with Southern' creating a flurry of chances in the first few minutes. One chance came from
Cesar Gonzalez that the goalkeeper saved into the post. Covenant would find the net one other time before the Panthers first goal of the night on a whipped in ball from
Patrick Kelly.
The score would end at 3-1 Covenant.
