BSC FALLS TO MILLSAPS, 70-64

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team scores 67, but loses to Millsaps.

These two teams met in early December, where Millsaps won by a score of 64-37. This time around BSC did a much better job scoring the basketball with three players over 15 points. The Majors started off shooting the ball well and led by a score of 15-14 after the 1st quarter. Maya Cable led the Panthers with five points during the first 10 minutes. BSC took their first lead of the game after a 5-0 run to put the score at 19-17. In the 2nd quarter we had four ties and a couple of lead changes that came before halftime. Montanna Harris scored the last points of the half with a little jumper from the short corner. The Panthers led 30-28 at the half.

Birmingham-Southern out-scored the Majors 34-27 over the 2nd and 3rd quarters to open up a six point lead. Lauryn Towns added four points off the bench, and all four came in the 3rd quarter. A 4th quarter 16-0 run led the Majors to a 61-51 lead. After two free-throws from Sheraton Foster, BSC got to within four points. The lead was too big for the Panthers and Millsaps would win this one 70-64. Millsaps was led by Haley Franklin with 26 points on 10-20 shooting. Montanna Harris had an impactful game for the Panthers with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
