BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team swept their opponent again on Saturday. This time, the Panthers defeated Central Alabama Community College, 9-0.
Rici Stockl and
Nicole Ramirez won the #3 doubles match by forfeit before No. 1 duo Blakely Valzez/
Abbie Bateh and No. 2 duo
Anna Beth Giles/
Meg Griffin dominated their matches. Both pairs took home 8-1 wins to get BSC out to a 3-0 lead.
The Panthers had one of their most impressive performances of the season in the singles matches. Each player for the home side won at least one set 6-0 and no Panther gave up more than one total game to their opposition.
Anna Cate Weeks and
Rici Stockl both won their matches 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 and No. 5 positions respectively. The six singles wins by BSC completed the 9-0 sweep on the day.
