ORLANDO, Fla. - After falling to #20 RPI on Saturday, the Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team got back on track via a sweep of Juniata on Sunday.
BSC vs. #20 RPI
RPI started the day with wins in all three doubles matches, but the Panthers competed and kept each match tight. The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches finished an exciting 8-5 each while the No. 1 match finished 8-4. Down 3-0 to start, BSC looked to gain some ground in the singles matches.

Tanner DeBardelaben and No. 5
Tom Smith both competed in nail-biting matches with both Panthers going to tiebreaker sets. DeBardelaben won his first set, 6-4 but fell in set two, 6-1. After tons of excellent shots from both players, RPI's Andy Zhu won the match 11-9 in set three for what turned out to be one of the most exciting matches of the season.

Tom Smith also played some excellent tennis and had an identical first two sets to his teammate DeBardelaben. Smith won set one, 6-4 but then fell 6-1 in the second. BSC's No. 5 position player ultimately fell in the tiebreaker, 10-5 in another thrilling match.

Reed Martinson then was in full control of his match with a 6-0, 6-1 win. No. 5
Tom Smith also completed a shutout in set one with a 6-0, 6-2 win. The Panthers then went on to complete the sweep in singles and finish off the overall sweep of Juniata, 9-0.
