MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The #42 ranked Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team was defeated by a strong Sewanee side in the SAA Men's Tennis Championship after winning their past six matches.

After advancing back to the conference finals, the Panthers looked to avange their only SAA loss of the season against #1 seed and #15 nationally ranked Sewanee. The Tigers got the first win of the day in the No. 1 doubles match as their #9 ranked duo completed an 8-2 win. The No. 3 and No. 2 doubles matches were hard-fought matches, but Sewanee managed to complete the sweep with 8-6 and 8-5 wins respectively.

The Tigers continued their excellent tennis with wins in the No. 3 and No. 6 positions to clinch the conference title in Murfreesboro. Notably for the Panthers, Hallet Green and Tanner DeBardelaben were leading in their second sets, but the matches were not completed as title matches are played to a decision.
