JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team fell to LeTourneau 80-66 on Saturday afternoon, dropping to 2-4 on the season.
BSC trailed for most of the game and was unable to put together the runs necessary to overtake LeTourneau in the end.
The Panthers were led offensively by freshman Josh Childers (Madison, Ala./Westminster Christian Academy), who came off the bench to score a team-high 13 points in the loss.
Ben Spence (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) and Christian Stewart (Irondale, Ala./Shades Valley HS) also hit double-digits in scoring with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Spence also had a team-high 11 rebounds.
As a team, BSC shot 34.3 percent from the field and 17.9 percent from three-point range. The Panthers led in the rebounds category 56-42 but trailed in the turnover category, giving up 10 more than LeTourneau.
Birmingham-Southern continues play at the Millsaps-hosted tournament on Sunday, Nov. 24 against Ozarks at 1 p.m.
