JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team was defeated by Ozarks 88-81 in its final game of the Millsaps-hosted tournament on Sunday.
Birmingham-Southern (2-5) started off well, opening the scoring with a Calvin Bak (Muscle Shoals, Ala./Muscle Shoals HS) three-pointer. But the Panthers started to fall behind midway through the first half. Once Ozarks took its first lead with 14:49 to go in the first half, the Panthers were never able to retake it.
Bak, who scored the opening basket of the game, went on to hit 11 for the game, including nine three-pointers, which gave him a game-high 32 points for the Panthers in the loss. Junior forward Christian Stewart (Irondale, Ala./Shades Valley HS) also had a game, scoring 25 points for BSC.
As a team, Birmingham-Southern was 44.1 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three.
The Panthers will look to rebound in their next game against Pensacola Christian on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The game is set to tipoff at 7 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
