CONWAY, Ark. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team fell 93-81 on the road at Hendrix College on Friday night.
BSC hit the opening basket of the game but trailed for most of the game. Despite making more field goals than the Warriors, the Panthers struggled from the free throw line, hitting just over 50 percent of their free throws. The home side also managed to sink more shots from outside the arch.
Senior guard Calvin Bak (Muscle Shoals, Ala./Muscle Shoals HS) led the Panthers with 22 points in the loss, hitting 8-of-13 shots from the field, including four three-pointers. It is Bak's fifth 20-point-plus game this season. Junior guard Bruce Bright (Birmingham, Ala./John Carroll HS) came off the bench to score a career-high 17 points, as well.
With the loss, Birmingham-Southern drops to 4-11 overall and 0-4 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Panthers will travel to Memphis, Tenn., to face the Rhodes Lynx in their next game on Sunday, Jan. 12.
