
DICKSON, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team finished round one of the 2019 Southern Athletic Association in fourth place out of eight teams on Friday.
As a team, the Panthers shot 305 to end the first day of competition 17-over par.
Junior Blake Schambeau (Hoover, Ala./Hoover HS) was BSC's leader on Friday, shooting a 73 to finish round one tied for fifth place and one-over par.
Senior Colin MacLane (Oviedo, Fla./The Master's Academy) and junior Thomas Iturbe (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright Prep) also finished the round inside the top 20. MacLane shot a 75 to finished tied for 13th and Iturbe shot 76 to finish tied for 17th place.
Birmingham-Southern will pick up the tournament with round two at Greystone Golf Club on Saturday morning.
