BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team fell to Berry College 14-10 on Saturday afternoon.
BSC fell into a 6-1 hole in the first quarter and could not pull itself out, despite outscoring the Vikings in the second and fourth quarters.
Junior Taylor Carson (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) led the Panthers offensively in the loss with four goals.
Senior goalie Matt Quill (Fort Mill, S.C./Coker College) played all 60 minutes in goal and ended the game with 23 saves.
With the loss, Birmingham-Southern drops to 7-8 overall and 2-4 in the SAA.
Saturday also served as Senior Day for BSC. Ten Panthers – Alex Bates (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS), William Seward (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS), Peyton Taylor (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS), Greg Wallace (Fairhope, Ala./Bayside Academy), Zachary Mathews (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS), Matt Quill (Fort Mill, S.C./Coker College), John Oates (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School), Blake Callahan (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS), Cameron Pelletier (Charlotte, N.C./Cuthbertson HS) and Davis Thompson (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes HS) – were recognized for their commitment and dedication to men's lacrosse program.
