
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team routed Covenant College 10-1 in game one of their doubleheader before going on to take game two 3-1 in the night cap. BSC moved to 4-2 overall with the wins.
Krystyn Fisher (Alpharetta, Ga./Chattahoochee HS) had a breakout game. She went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run, hitting .667 on the day. Jojo Johnston (Chelsea, Ala./University of Mobile) led the team with three hits. And Abby Spencer (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS) had a team-best four RBI.
Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) pitched 6.2 scoreless innings on the day with seven strikeouts, earning the game one win. Jessica Perley (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia HS) picked up her first win of the season in game two.
The Panthers remain at home this weekend. They open Southern Athletic Association play against Centre College with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 24. First pitch is set for noon.
