TUCSON, Ariz. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team played six games in three days against some of the top teams in the country at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. BSC (10-7) dropped close games early, but finished the weekend with a pair of wins.
Kyrstyn Fisher (Alpharetta, Ga./Chattahoochee HS) was named to the All-Tournament team for her performance. She finished the weekend hitting .364 with a team-high eight hits including a home run and a double. Fisher only stuck out once in 22 at bats and knocked in three runs.
Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) picked up the Panthers two wins. She struck out 20 batters in five appearances, throwing three complete games. She also led the team in RBI with five.
BSC returns home for a single game against Robert Morris, Springfield on Tuesday, March 6. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
