
ROME, Ga – The Birmingham-Southern softball team was unable to pull off the upset of No. 8 Berry College Sunday as they fell 5-3 and 4-1 on the road. BSC (23-13) moved to 10-5 in Southern Athletic Association play and second in the league.
Ella Day (Gadsden, Ala./Gadsden City) led the Panthers at the plate. She went 3-for-4 and was a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen bases. Saydee Keith (Corner, Ala./Corner HS) and Kendell Hamm (Adamsville, Ala./Sumitron Christian HS) also had multi-hit days. Keith finished with a team best three RBI and Hamm knocked in a run of her own, respectively.
BSC closes out the regular season at home in a series against SAA rival Sewanee. Games are set for April 14-15 with first pitch at noon on both days. It will also be senior day for the Panthers next Saturday as they play a doubleheader.
