No. 8 Panthers Dominate Top Conference Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 8 Birmingham-Southern softball is having a stellar season, and the coaches of the Southern Athletic Association recognized their efforts by giving BSC three of the top four awards.


Head Coach Kimball Cassady was named Coach of the Year for leading the Panthers to a regular season conference title.  Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) was named pitcher of the year, and Bailey Murphy (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) earned newcomer of the year honors.


BSC put seven in total on all-conference teams.  Along with Crumpton and Bailey, Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS), Abby Spencer (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS), and Kendell Hamm (Adamsville, Ala./Sumitron Christian HS) earned first-team honors.  Jessica Perley (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia HS) and Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS) were named second-team all-conference.
