GREENSBORO, N.C. – Birmingham-Southern swimming and diving junior Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) wrapped up the 2019 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships for the Panthers on Saturday.
In her final individual event of the year, Erwin first earned a spot in the championship final with a fifth-place preliminary finish and a time of 50.60 on Saturday morning.
Erwin improved her placement and time when it mattered most, in the championship final of the 100-yard freestyle on Saturday night. The junior swam the race in 50.50 to take third place in the nation in the event, giving her her second third-place finish of the championships.
For the entire meet, Erwin finished second or third in all three of her individual events and earned All-America honors in each.
Erwin, alongside teammates Anna Jordan Luth (Pensacola, Fla./Booker T. Washington HS), Mary Beth Ronne (Athens, Tenn./McMinn County HS) and Mary Katherine Stewart (Daphne, Ala./Daphne HS), were also named Honorable Mention All-Americans in the 800-yard freestyle relay on Friday.
