Hal McKay

Hal McKay was hired as the assistant swimming and diving coach in July of 2019.

 

Primarily training sprints and middle distance freestyle, McKay came to the Hilltop from the University of Mary in Bismark, N.D. where he helped athletes make it to the NCAA Division II National Championships as a graduate assistant coach.

 

McKay competed at Gardner-Webb University as an undergraduate.  A three-time all-conference swimmer, he was named to the all-academic team twice, and received a certificate of merit from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  McKay graduated from Gardner-Webb in 2017 with a degree in biology and minor in chemistry.

 

A Birmingham, Ala. native, McKay is currently pursuing his master’s in physical education and sports administration.
