Panthers Fall to UC Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Calif.  – Birmingham-Southern women's basketball dropped its game to host UC Santa Cruz on the final day of the Thanksgiving Classic Sunday. BSC moved to 6-2 overall on the year after falling 81-69.

Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) earned her second straight double-double.  She dropped a game-high 26 points and grabbed a game-high 18 rebounds.  Derienne Black (Madison, Ala./Sparkman HS) and Josie Wannemuehler (Birmingham, Ala./John Carroll Catholic HS) also netted double-figure points.  Black finished with 16, while Wannemeuhler earned 13 points, respectively.

The Panthers return home on Saturday to take on Louisiana College.  The teams tipoff at 2 p.m.
